Walking through the supermarket this time of year when you're trying to lose weight is intense – there is Chocolate, biscuits and sweets everywhere. And it's the best stuff! I don't know what it is, but the Chocolate around Christmas time is special. Especially Cadbury's Christmas calendar chocolate, and I can't be the only one who's bought a Christmas calendar just to nail it in one sitting.

Should we avoid Christmas treats?
Alas, when you're aiming to lean out before Christmas, you naturally try to avoid this stuff. Which is wise – they contain a ridiculous amount of calories and are far too easy to overindulge on. But, do you need to avoid this stuff completely? No, of course not. That's not what father Christmas wants, it's not what Cadbury's wants, and it's certainly not what you want! The devil is in the dosage, and all the festive treats can be consumed in moderation.
What is the 80/20 rule?
I always recommend the 80/20 rule: 80% good stuff like fruits, vegetables and other nutrient-dense foods, with a big focus on protein. And 20% not-so-good stuff – this can be made up of your favourite festive treats. Depending on how active you are, this can be just a few Fox's biscuits to half a month's worth of Cadbury's Christmas calendar. But don't be like me and eat the entire calendar – you're better than that!
